Reported by illeot on 28 Feb 2014

A new special web has been published containing the liner notes of all the songs for "TAPESTRY OF SONGS -THE BEST OF ANGELA AKI-", including the songs in the limited edition second CD. Here we can read the liner notes of two songs included in the first CD that weren't published before, because they can't publish the video, "Kiss Me Good-Bye" or because there's not any video, "I Have a Dream", so like the other, here you have that liner note translated and the video of the first performance at "Washington National Gallery" of it!

#15 I Have a Dream

"Since this song was going to be used for the "Washington National Gallery" exposition (bringing impressionist and post-impressionist works from Washington National Gallery in 2011) I wanted to use the words Martin Luther King said in Washington, "I have a dream", and get inspiration from them to write the lyrics. I thought about where do broken dreams not yet come true go, and that maybe if you call them out loud they'll be back. Part of this message is also expressed towards myself."

#14 Kiss Me Good-bye

'"Final Fantasy XII" theme song composed by Nobuo Uematsu, a great videogame composer. I only had to write lyrics to sing this song since the melody was given to me. I wanted to express through the lyrics that if you love the right person you don't have to regret it even saying goodbye.'

Reported by illeot on 21 Feb 2014

A new music video for the song  "Tegami ~Haikei Jyugo no Kimi he~" has been recorded and published for the best of Angela. This video shows different people sharing their dreams and writing a short letter to themselves in ten years. Some of the people in the video are actually recognized professionals in their fields, like the runner Oosako Suguro, the comedy duo Westland, and the free announcer and Angie's personal friend Nakano Minako.
The theme of the video is showing us how we are all in the middle of making our dreams come true.
The video ends with Angie letting us know what her dream is now after having become a singer-songwriter and fulfilling her first dream.

English subs done by My Keys International.

You can watch the original video without subtitles here.

Reported by illeot on 20 Feb 2014

In the special website for Angie's first best album they're publishing the videos for each song in the album and the liner notes of each song. Since those videos are only for Japanese IP's, I'm going to publish them here from the MKI account so everyone can watch them, and I'm going to translate the liner notes.

'The thing about a singer I love, Ani DiFranco (American singersongwriter), is that after listening to any of her songs 2 or 3 times there's some smart line that gets stuck in your head. I wanted to have a sentence like that, so I put a fighting spirit into this song. "Once could be chance, but meeting again must be fate" or "the passion grew stronger soon, but love became deeper little by little" are that kind of line made in my own style.'

'I thought it would be weird to express the feeling of saying "I love you" until it reaches the other person's ear, it would come floating like in the sentence "the confession continues through your neck, it slides into your ear". From there I kept on writing the rest, and since the lyrics are fun I thought the music should be fun too so it's got a more electronic arrangement.'
